Mark Paul: Florida Panthers Trading Partners (Buffalo Sabres) The Florida Panthers will be active in free agency to try and acquire defensive aid along with another forward that fits into their top six. Before signing free agents though, the Panthers should look to the trade market first.

Buffalo won’t trade Sam for that. He’s young, a RFA and is only getting better. Need a top pick plus, or a young highly rated D prospect or there is no point on trading him.

I'm a big Reinhart fan obviously, but think he could be had as well. Difference is I think if they move him it's either for Jack's winger or a good defenseman. Pretty spot on though, like the reeeeed.

I'm guessing Macherin will be a throw in for every proposed deal as you also proposed him as part of a Patches deal with MTL.

I like the idea of trying to pull V. Trocheck outta there. ..

I don't really watch too many Panthers games, but has Bjugstad really fallen out of favor there?

There is no way Buffalo makes that trade. While I am not his biggest fan this guy was a point-per-game player over the last half of the year and is still cost controlled. A bunch of decent pieces won't get that. The Sabres would need back a young elite winger with speed in order to trade 23.

A young top 2 overall pick with great upside for a 3rd line grinder, the guy who won't sign anyway and whoa, bonus 3rd rounder?

I bet Eichel could net Trochek and a 2020 1st if we're being generous.

So you think you're getting a "young elite winger" for a player who managed to go at a point per game pace for half a season? Wooptie doo what a huge selling point. Why in God's name would anyone trade you an elite player let alone a young one for Reinhart?

As would every fan base, but there's no way Florida moves him unless it's a massive deal.

Not for this Florida fan. He lost all of his confidence, and for the last couple of years, tries to play a game that takes no advantage of his skill set. If he were to be traded and a coach just tells him the right thing, he could turn his game up several levels.
I would like for him to turn his game up several levels here. He had a better season than the previous two, and I still think he's capable of so much more.

Dude man you came up with a Bag of pucks for a 2nd overall pick who has 140 points in 249 games and its likely going to be a 20 to 30 goal scorer for the next 5 to 10 NHL seasons baring injury.

You are looking at a package of
Evgeni Dadonov
Owen Tippett
And your Number 1 pick this year.

You are not getting a former #2 overall who now has shown he is a scoring threat on the wing and from in front of the net for a bag of pucks. You are going to pay for that. Yea he can have higher stats if the Sabres didnt keep throwing him at Center. Thing is when they finally got it through their heads he is not a Center the kid flourished. A bag of pucks is not getting a high end prospect out of Buffalo.
